Multilateral Sanctions Monitoring Team (MSMT) 2nd Report Rollout Event.

A side event on the new Multilateral Sanctions Monitoring Team (MSMT) report on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's violation and evasion of UN sanctions through cyber and information technology worker activities.

The MSMT was established in October 2024, following the disbandment of the Panel of Experts established pursuant to UN Security Council resolution (UNSCR) 1874 (2009). The MSMT aims to monitor and report on violations and evasions of UN sanctions on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), thereby supporting Member States in fully implementing relevant UNSCRs.

The eleven Member States participating in the MSMT convene this event to engage with all UN Member States and share the findings of the MSMT's second report on the DPRK's violation and evasion of UN sanctions through cyber and information technology worker activities, published on October 22. Member States will have the opportunity to ask questions of the MSMT as well as leading private sector experts on the DPRK's cyber and IT worker activities, including representatives from Google Cloud's Mandiant, DTEX, Palo Alto Networks, Sekoia.io and others.

Hosts: 11 Member States participating in the MSMT — Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, United Kingdom, and the United States.
